Where to Find Mannequins for Sale

Any time a clothing store opens or expands, they must buy mannequins. There are many different places to find a mannequin for sale, including the Internet, companies that mass produce mannequins, and businesses that make unique mannequins one at a time. Other mannequin sellers offer used mannequins at a discount.

There are numerous websites that sell mannequins. Some of them manufacture their own mannequins while others offer mannequins from well-known mannequin makers around the world. Other websites sell used and refurbished mannequins at low prices. Most Internet mannequin dealers have pictures and description of the mannequins they have in stock so that buyers know exactly what they are getting. Websites that sell used or unique mannequins have different inventories daily and do not always have the same models, so it is a good idea for consumers to act quickly when they see a mannequin they like on one of these websites. Some websites offer free shipping on large orders.

Onsale

Some mannequin manufacturers mass-produce their products, creating hundreds or thousands of identical mannequins. They often have a mannequin designer that comes up with specific body shapes and facial features that are then made into molds in order to be produced on a large scale. These mannequins are often less expensive than one-of-a-kind mannequins. Mannequins produced in the same factory are usually of comparable quality, providing buyers with a consistent level of quality.
Where to Find Mannequins for Sale
Other mannequin dealers specialize in making unique mannequins. These are often more expensive, but they are high-quality, one-of-a-kind mannequins unlike any others in the world. Some of these manufacturers design and make their mannequins one at a time in order to insure that they are of the highest quality possible.
There are many places to find mannequins for sale. People can buy them off the Internet or from mannequin stores that specialize in creating unique mannequins.

Mothers Rights - Child Custody For Mothers

Mothers rights to custody and the standard by which custody determinations are made in the family courts has changed significantly over the last century. In the early 1900's, fathers were typically given custody of the children in the case of a divorce. In contested child custody cases today, in which the mother earns less than the father, it does not automatically entitle the father to custody of the child in the event of a divorce.

Following the standards in the early 1900's which typically gave fathers custody of the children, states shifted to the tender years doctrine which presumed the mothers to be the primary caregiver. This standard changed yet again. Following the 1970's the tender years doctrine was replaced with the overall best interests of the child standard. The overall best interest of the child standard takes several factors into consideration and is supposed to guide the family courts in child custody determinations. Nevertheless, some family courts in the 20th century continue to favor the mother as the primary caregiver.

Coach

Mothers often provide primary care for their children and are often involved in the day to day responsibilities of raising and nurturing their children. While some mothers may be at a disadvantage financially at the beginning of their divorce, more mothers are becoming educated with strategies and information on how to enhance their custody case and how other mothers are obtaining custody of their children.

Mothers Rights - Child Custody For Mothers

Mothers and fathers both have a prominent role to play in supporting the growth and development of their children. But when parents divorce and child custody is contested, the family courts are faced with the difficult task of determining where the child will live and what parenting arrangement is in the best interest of the child. Upon divorce, the best parent is generally having both parents involved. More and more, the courts are adopting this mentality and favoring frequent and continuing contact with both parents as the best arrangement for the child. Additionally, more and more mothers are taking on the same attitude for the benefit of their children and are benefiting from the shared parenting responsibilities as a result.

Coach Handbags - Find Deals at The Crossing Outlet In Tannersville, PA

Coach handbags are extremely popular and they have been this way ever since they have come on the scene in 1941. There are so many styles to choose from and they are always coming up with new bags and accessories each year. Sometimes they even have retro bags that are great for those that like the classic look.

The prices for the bags range from 150.00 to upwards of 450.00 but I have stumbled up some great discounts at this place called the Crossings in Tannersville in Pennsylvania. While vacationing in the Pocono's in northeast PA, I was out with some friends of my deciding where to go shopping. One of my friends who is a resident there, suggested that we go to the outlet in Tannersville, PA.

Coach

When we got there, I noticed that the place was huge with so many stores all in a row. As soon as we parked the car, I looked at the place and spotted a Coach Outlet. I was so excited and decided to make this our first stop. When I walked through the door, there were Coach bags everywhere. Being that I keep up with all the latest Coach bags via them sending me emails on the latest styles, one of the first things I noticed was that they did not have all the latest styles.

Coach Handbags - Find Deals at The Crossing Outlet In Tannersville, PA

However, if you are a Coach bag lover like I am, you will feel like you are in heaven. As I browsed the purses, I checked the prices and the discounts were amazing. In addition, I was given another 10% off coupon from the clerk at the front door. I went crazy in this store and bought more bags then I should have, but I was happy. I never knew a place like this existed.

I always assumed the only way to buy these bags was from their official stores or at one of their stores that you can sometimes find at the local mall but I guess my mind has been opened. So, if you ever in Tannersville, PA and are looking for a Coach store, then check out The Crossings Outlet in Tannersville. You will be amazed at the discounts you can find.

The Role of the Assistant Basketball Coach

"The best executive is the one who has enough sense to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it." Theodore Roosevelt

The role of the assistant coach will vary program-to-program. However there are several qualities that must carry-over from program-to-program. These are:

Coach

1. Loyalty: Your assistant must support you in your efforts. Over the years, I have seen a number of Head Coaches lose their jobs because the Assistant Coach chose not to support the Head Coach.

The Role of the Assistant Basketball Coach

2. Integrity and Values: They are a reflection of you.

3. Character: It is what they are when no one is around. Questionable character will not only get the assistant fired, but they may take you down as well.

4. Enthusiastic: They must bring a level of enthusiasm to practice every day.

5. Motivated: Motivation gets them going. If they are motivated, and you are motivated, your players will be motivated. Make motivation a habit.

6. Goal-setters: Your assistant coaches should be setting goals for their own coaching careers. And, if they exhibit the above traits, you should assist them in achieving those goals.

The assistant coach is vital to the success of the athletic program. Good assistant coaches are necessary regardless of the sport or the size of the school. With a shortage of both teachers and coaches, good assistants may be hard to come by. Once you find a good assistant, it is your job to prepare him/her to the best of your ability.

To be a good assistant the individual must want to coach in the school system they are in. A coach who has the background and the abilities, but isn't happy with the situation, may wind up doing more harm than good to your program. You would be better off with a person who has the desire, but not the experience to assist you.

The assistant must be willing to work hard, know what the head coach wants, and must be willing to teach it. The assistant is an extension of the head coach. When the assistant doesn't understand or questions the head coach's philosophy, the head coach must be willing to spend the time to teach the assistant so they understand the big picture. However, the assistant must never question the head coach during practice or a game. The time for that is during staff meetings.

The assistant coach must look and act in a professional manner. During practice the assistant must help enforce discipline. If the assistant knows of a violation of team rules, it is their job to inform the head coach. The assistant must show a caring attitude for your players both on the court and in the classroom. By nature of the beast, the players will come to the assistant when they have a problem. Players should feel free to talk about their problems with the assistant. However, there is a very fine line that the assistant coach must not cross-they are the coach and the player is the player.

The role of the assistant coach is one of long hours, low pay, and often little recognition. It is up to the head coach to show his loyalty to the assistant coach. Give credit when credit is due. If the assistant did something to help the outcome of a game, let the media know it. On the same hand, if they make a coaching mistake, support them.

The head coach must delegate responsibility to the assistant coach. Then, make sure the assistant understands what is expected. Outline responsibilities ahead of time so the assistant has time to prepare himself or herself for the job expected of them.

When an assistant needs to be corrected or criticized, do it in private. And, never do it in public or in front of your players. Be open with your assistants-encourage them to brainstorm with you. The more they feel ownership of the program, the more they will do to make the program a success.

Help them get a head-coaching job. If they have a desire to be a head coach, and they are prepared, do everything possible to assist them. Write a letter of recommendation and make a phone call on their behalf. Don't be neutral-if they're not ready, tell them why they are not ready. Evaluate them so they can grow!

Some Examples of Assistant Coaches Game Day Duties:

a. Prior to the game: strategy - may be asked to write the game plan and match-ups on the board.
b. Check the scorebook for accuracy prior to the game - the worst thing you can do is to start the game with a technical because no one checked the book.
c. During the game: sit next to the Head Coach-Keep key game information charted. It may be to keep track of the fouls, timeouts or other pertinent game information.
d. Take game notes for half-time adjustments
e. Have the dry erase board available for the Head Coach during time-outs.
f. Help the Head Coach with Post Game Evaluation

Examples of Assistant Coaches Practice Duties:

1. Assist Head Coach with planning practice
2. Arrive early on the floor to make sure the gym is set for practice
3. Work with assigned position players
4. Help the Head Coach with stations as assigned
5. Serve as a buffer between the Head Coach and the players
6. Run the "B" team vs. the Varsity in practice scrimmages
7. Make sure the gym is picked-up after practice

Examples of Other Assistant Coaches Duties:

a. Help the Head Coach monitor academic progress. You may be asked to take charge of grade checks.
b. Scout the opponent as assigned - this may be breaking down video or seeing the opponent in person.
c. Assist the Head Coach with team scrapbook. You may be asked to keep track of any articles or photos in the area newspapers.
d. Call in game scores to the media as needed - especially when you are playing on the road.
e. Be available to break down game film upon request

Tempurpedic Mattress Sale - Where To Find It

A tempurpedic mattress is considered to be the best of the memory foam mattresses anywhere in the world. But, unfortunately because they are the best so their price reflects this. Because of this many people can not afford to purchase a tempurpedic mattress. However, in this article I will provide you with some ways of finding a tempurpedic mattress sale. Then hopefully you will get that good night sleep you have always wanted.

I suppose the first place any one should look when want to purchase a cheap tempurpedic mattress is on one of the many auction sites now set up on the web. Certainly places like eBay etc., will often have special deals going on such items and many companies prefer to sell in this way as it cuts out the middle man and also saves them the cost to having a showroom for people to view their products.

Onsale

However, be wary as sometimes what you think is tempurpedic is not at all. There are some sellers online particularly on Ebay who sell fake tempurpedic mattresses and other tempurpedic products. So it is important that you check the ebay seller's feedback received from other customers (if there isn't any then don't purchase from the seller). Also if you are able to email or phone the seller to make sure that what they are selling is a genuine tempurpedic mattress.

Tempurpedic Mattress Sale - Where To Find It

The real benefit to be had from using an online site for purchasing a tempurpedic mattress is that it all can be done from the convenience of your own home. So no longer will you have to travel from shop to shop in order to get the right deal. All you need to do is visit a few sites online compare what they are offering and the price and then see if you can haggle with them. An example is Epinions.com which provides price comparison of tempurpedic products from various online stores as well as reviews from past customers.

Another place to look for a tempurpedic mattress sale is in your local newspaper. Often there are companies who are having sales on for these items and you just go down on a particular day when the sale is on and purchase whatever you need. However, be careful when visiting these companies and make sure that what you are purchasing is a genuine tempurpedic mattress. But hopefully by using one of these methods you will find a tempurpedic mattress to suit your budget.

How to Spot Fake UGG Boots

Christmas is just around the corner, and gift-buying season beckons (that is, if it hasn't already started in earnest in your locality yet)! So start thinking and looking for gifts now, or else you'll end up doing 11th-hour Christmas shopping, just when prices have already gone up!

Thinking of buying shoes as gifts for Christmas? Sheepskin boots would make for an ideal gift at this time of the year, because of the ice-cool temperatures brought about by winter. And if you and me are on the same "wavelength", what better sheepskin boots to give than a pair of genuine, honest-to-goodness "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots, right? As they say, "give nothing but the best!" But the problem is, where should you look for authentic "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots? Sure, you might say that 'there are actually lots of stores in my area selling authentic "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots, but are you sure that they are, indeed, authentic "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots? And are you even remotely aware of the "controversy" or""dispute" between Australian bootmakers and the American company that makes the authentic "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots? If you are not aware of this so-called "controversy or "dispute", then check out the Wikipedia article about UGG Boots.

Now that you have spent some time educating yourself about the American and Australian "interpretation" of the word "UGGs" and the background behind the "UGG Australia" controversy, let's move forward as I show you the ways by which you can distinguish a pair of genuine "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots from fake ones. Let me begin, however, by saying that all of my "hints", "pointers", notes and remarks that follow are applicable ONLY to "UGG Australia" boots found in an "actual" store and not a "virtual" one (such as those "online" stores and/or "retailers"), okey? For purposes of conciseness or brevity, I"ll talk about spotting fake UGGs among "virtual" or "online" stores in another discussion.

Let's start the ball rolling by talking about the PRICE. Genuine "UGG Australia" sheepskin boots are quite expensive. I won't mention any figures, because prices vary and change from time to time. But here's what I sUGGest you can do to "root out" obvious fakes: if there are several stores offering UGGs in your area, check out each and everyone's prices. If they"re all bunched together within a small range, that means 1.) Either they are all selling genuine UGGs, which is good; or 2.) They are all selling fakes, which is too bad. My point is, if one store offers a price that is significantly much, much lower than the others, then, in any language, that's a giveaway that that store is selling fake UGGs.

Now, suppose they all indeed sell UGGs in a tightly-bunched price range. What should you do next? Check out their LOOKS. Here are several visible 'telltale signs" that give away fakes:

If one or all of a particular boot's labels (both outside and inside) show "Made in Australia" or "Made in New Zealand", then those definitely are fakes. Because Deckers has been manufacturing them in China for quite some time now.
If the quality of the stitching is very bad, then it's a fake. Of course, it might be difficult to distinguish "very bad" from "bad" and from "good", but if it is obviously very bad, then the boots are fakes.
Look at the store's black-colored UGGs. Geniune black-colored UGGs have black-colored soles and black labels with the "UGG" logo in white, whereas fake "black" UGGs have tan-colored soles and brown (or non-black) labels.
Ask for the "Nightfall" model. If the "Nightfall" presented to you is any other color but Chestnut, it is a fake. Deckers only makes "Nightfall" in Chestnut.
Ask for a "Sundance" model. If you see a "Sundance" in any other color but Chestnut Sand or Chocolate, it is a fake. Deckers has stopped making it in Black. There may be old stock around, but anyone selling large amounts of them is probably selling fakes.
While still on the subject of boot color, take note that there are no "camel"-colored UGGgs. So if someone offers you one, bingo!
In a genuine UGG, the sheepskin fur around the boot matches the colour of the boot but the sheepskin fur at the bottom of the boot, where your foot sits, is always natural (or "cream") in color.
The sole of a genuine UGG is about a half-inch or more, while the soles of fakes are very thin, like maybe ¼-inch.
Now try looking at the "size" label of their women's and kid's UGGs, if they have any. All the Euro, UK, and US sizes are shown on a kid's UGG, whereas the women's UGG only shows the US size on it.
If a blue card or a brown "leather" pinned-on tag (some of these might say "Made by CGM Co. Ltd."), or a dust bag in a light brown or beige colour saying "UGG" or sometimes "Snow Boots" goes with the pair of UGGs, then it's a fake. Most "innocent" purchasers are fooled by this seeming "attention to detail" or "extra touches". The truth is that no pair of genuine "UGG Australia" boot has a pinned-on label (or with "sample fur" attached) or comes with a dust/protection bag or shopping bag!
If you happen to bring with you (or wear) a pair of genuine UGGs, or one of your companions brought with him his genuine UGGs, try to compare your genuine UGGs with a fake side-by-side; a fake one that is the same "model" as your genuine UGGs either will be taller or shorter than yours.
Also, while still on the subject of side-by-side comparison, the "UGG" label on the rear of the boots is higher up on a fake and the lettering is different from the genuine UGG. The letters may have gaps between them in the fake, while in the real, they are overlapping. Lastly, the word "australia" on the "UGG Australia" logo is in a bolder font on the fake than on a genuine UGG.

Now, suppose that the counterfeiters have exceedingly gotten better, and, so far, the UGGs you are looking at have passed all the "visual" tests above. There are yet some more 'tests" that you can do to "root out" the fakes. For instance, try this FIT TEST: If you know your boot size, try asking for a pair of UGGs whose size is higher up by one "notch" than your size, then try wearing them. If they are genuine UGGs, they should fit snugly, or they should even be a little loose-fitting. Fake UGGs, on the other hand, are notoriously ill-fitting!

Want more 'tests"? Try these simple FUR TESTS: Look at the boot's interior fur. Genuine UGG fur are fluffy-looking and thick, and they should have a rich cream color. Fake UGG fur, on the other hand, are synthetic and are thin- and delicate-looking, and they are "greyish" or "white", instead of being cream-colored. Now "feel" the fur with your hands. They should "feel" very soft. Next, try rubbing your fingers against them. You could tell the fakes because bits of them would "come off" or "come away" even with just a slight "rubbing." Lastly, smell the boot's interior and the fur. If there's even just a slight paint or "lacquer" smell to them, then that's your indication that the boots are fake. Genuine UGG fur don't have even just a slight hint of that "lacquery" smell, because genuine fur doesn't have to be dyed to "pass" it off as the "real thing".

Let's try a "new" approach to these 'tests"; instead of testing the boots, let's TEST THE SELLER. Here are some ways by which it can be done:

Strike up a conversation with the seller about UGGs and where they are made. If he/she mentions that the genuine ones are made in Australia and/or New Zealand, then he/she is selling fakes. Likewise, if the seller fails to mention the Deckers Outdoor Corporation (or Deckers, Inc.) as the "parent" company, then that's another sign that he/she is selling fakes.
Try "feigning" a slight disappointment with the "model" or boot size that was presented to you, like perhaps it's just not what you want. If the seller says, "Take your time choosing. I have lots of different "models" and sizes for you to choose from.", then, chances are, he/she is selling fakes, because UGGs are, by the very nature of their "raw" materials, scarce or in limited supplies. Anyone who has a truckload of them at this time of the year is highly suspicious!
Next, look around the place and try mentioning a "model" that isn't there, asking him/her if he can "order" it, how many days it will take, and from where does he/she get it. If the seller mentions getting it directly from his supplier in China, then he/she is selling fakes. While it is true that all of Deckers" UGGs are manufactured in China, a seller/reseller doesn't get them directly from China.

That's it. I have already covered the bases here. By no means this is a "comprehensive" list of 'tips" on discerning a genuine UGG from a fake one; in fact, a fake UGG may pass all of the "visual" telltale signs which I mentioned above (perhaps because the counterfeiters themselves have "wised up"), but, for sure, a lot of fake UGGs fail the "FIT TEST" and the "FUR TESTS" mentioned above, while a lot of their sellers fail the 'tEST THE SELLER" tests.

Nintendo Ds Lite For Sale - Could You Get One Cheaper?

These days, whenever you look for a Nintendo DS Lite for sale, whether it be as a present for somebody else or for yourself, you should be asking yourself if you could not be getting it for a better price.

The short answer is yes, you should be able to pick up a cheap Nintendo DS Lite simply by thinking outside the box a bit and steering clear of the major retail stores, especially in the run up to Christmas.

Onsale

With many million Nintendo DS Lite consoles having been sold over the past few years, there is no doubt that the product is tried and tested and extremely successful and popular. And that should play right into the hands of those who have not yet acquired a DS Lite, but are now in the market for one.

Nintendo Ds Lite For Sale - Could You Get One Cheaper?

So if you are after a cheap Nintendo DS Lite, your timing is just about spot on. Firstly the early adopters (those who rush out and buy anything new) have done their thing, as have those who sat back and waited to see what all the fuss was about. Having satisfied themselves that the Nintendo DS Lite console was a good buy, they have already bought one at whatever price the merchant was asking.

Put these factors together - a demand that is probably not as intense as it was even 6 months ago, and a world economy in the middle of a major downwards correction, and what do you have? The balance of power has swung from the supplier to the buyer who can now start exerting some price pressure on the seller.

As we all know, it's not often that one can bargain with the manager of your local retail store over prices, especially if the store is part of a national or international chain. The place to be then if you are looking for a Nintendo DS Lite for sale is on the auction sites where prices are more flexible and even perfectly good used Nintendo DS consoles are on sale.

The fake Louie Vuitton bags are by definition, unauthorized copies of the real Louis Vuitton products. In the United States, there are intellectual property laws which protect designers and other people who create unique items. The people who make the fake Louie Vuitton bags take great care to copy the originals down to the smallest detail. For most shoppers, it is very difficult to tell the difference between the real bags and the fakes. They are true status seekers, who either don't care weather they are getting the real thing, or can't afford it. They just want to look like their favorite celebrity. These fake Louie Vuitton bags, have cost LVMH millions of dollars in lost sales over the past several years. Brand Positioning - Brand Image

That cross-trainer you're wearing -- one look at the distinctive swoosh on the side tells everyone who's got you branded. That coffee travel mug you're carrying -- ah, you're a Starbucks woman! Your T-shirt with the distinctive Champion "C" on the sleeve, the blue jeans with the prominent Levi's rivets, the watch with the hey-this-certifies-I-made-it icon on the face, your fountain pen with the maker's symbol crafted into the end ...

You're branded, branded, branded, branded.

It's time for me -- and you -- to take a lesson from the big brands, a lesson that's true for anyone who's interested in what it takes to stand out and prosper in the new world of work.

Regardless of age, regardless of position, regardless of the business we happen to be in, all of us need to understand the importance of branding. We are CEOs of our own companies: Me Inc. To be in business today, our most important job is to be head marketer for the brand called You.

It's that simple -- and that hard. And that inescapable.

Behemoth companies may take turns buying each other or acquiring every hot startup that catches their eye -- mergers in 1996 set records. Hollywood may be interested in only blockbusters and book publishers may want to put out only guaranteed best-sellers. But don't be fooled by all the frenzy at the humongous end of the size spectrum.

The real action is at the other end: the main chance is becoming a free agent in an economy of free agents, looking to have the best season you can imagine in your field, looking to do your best work and chalk up a remarkable track record, and looking to establish your own micro equivalent of the Nike swoosh. Because if you do, you'll not only reach out toward every opportunity within arm's (or laptop's) length, you'll not only make a noteworthy contribution to your team's success -- you'll also put yourself in a great bargaining position for next season's free-agency market.

The good news -- and it is largely good news -- is that everyone has a chance to stand out. Everyone has a chance to learn, improve, and build up their skills. Everyone has a chance to be a brand worthy of remark.

Who understands this fundamental principle? The big companies do. They've come a long way in a short time: it was just over four years ago, April 2, 1993 to be precise, when Philip Morris cut the price of Marlboro cigarettes by 40 cents a pack. That was on a Friday. On Monday, the stock market value of packaged goods companies fell by $25 billion. Everybody agreed: brands were doomed.

Today brands are everything, and all kinds of products and services -- from accounting firms to sneaker makers to restaurants -- are figuring out how to transcend the narrow boundaries of their categories and become a brand surrounded by a Tommy Hilfiger-like buzz.

Who else understands it? Every single Website sponsor. In fact, the Web makes the case for branding more directly than any packaged good or consumer product ever could. Here's what the Web says: Anyone can have a Website. And today, because anyone can ... anyone does! So how do you know which sites are worth visiting, which sites to bookmark, which sites are worth going to more than once? The answer: branding. The sites you go back to are the sites you trust. They're the sites where the brand name tells you that the visit will be worth your time -- again and again. The brand is a promise of the value you'll receive.

The same holds true for that other killer app of the Net -- email. When everybody has email and anybody can send you email, how do you decide whose messages you're going to read and respond to first -- and whose you're going to send to the trash unread? The answer: personal branding. The name of the email sender is every bit as important a brand -- is a brand -- as the name of the Web site you visit. It's a promise of the value you'll receive for the time you spend reading the message.

Nobody understands branding better than professional services firms. Look at McKinsey for a model of the new rules of branding at the company and personal level. Almost every professional services firm works with the same business model. They have almost no hard assets -- my guess is that most probably go so far as to rent or lease every tangible item they possibly can to keep from having to own anything. They have lots of soft assets -- more conventionally known as people, preferably smart, motivated, talented people. And they have huge revenues -- and astounding profits.

They also have a very clear culture of work and life. You're hired, you report to work, you join a team -- and you immediately start figuring out how to deliver value to the customer. Along the way, you learn stuff, develop your skills, hone your abilities, move from project to project. And if you're really smart, you figure out how to distinguish yourself from all the other very smart people walking around with $1,500 suits, high-powered laptops, and well-polished resumes. Along the way, if you're really smart, you figure out what it takes to create a distinctive role for yourself -- you create a message and a strategy to promote the brand called You.

What makes You different?

Start right now: as of this moment you're going to think of yourself differently! You're not an "employee" of General Motors, you're not a "staffer" at General Mills, you're not a "worker" at General Electric or a "human resource" at General Dynamics (ooops, it's gone!). Forget the Generals! You don't "belong to" any company for life, and your chief affiliation isn't to any particular "function." You're not defined by your job title and you're not confined by your job description.

Starting today you are a brand.

You're every bit as much a brand as Nike, Coke, Pepsi, or the Body Shop. To start thinking like your own favorite brand manager, ask yourself the same question the brand managers at Nike, Coke, Pepsi, or the Body Shop ask themselves: What is it that my product or service does that makes it different? Give yourself the traditional 15-words-or-less contest challenge. Take the time to write down your answer. And then take the time to read it. Several times.

If your answer wouldn't light up the eyes of a prospective client or command a vote of confidence from a satisfied past client, or -- worst of all -- if it doesn't grab you, then you've got a big problem. It's time to give some serious thought and even more serious effort to imagining and developing yourself as a brand.

Start by identifying the qualities or characteristics that make you distinctive from your competitors -- or your colleagues. What have you done lately -- this week -- to make yourself stand out? What would your colleagues or your customers say is your greatest and clearest strength? Your most noteworthy (as in, worthy of note) personal trait?

Go back to the comparison between brand You and brand X -- the approach the corporate biggies take to creating a brand. The standard model they use is feature-benefit: every feature they offer in their product or service yields an identifiable and distinguishable benefit for their customer or client. A dominant feature of Nordstrom department stores is the personalized service it lavishes on each and every customer. The customer benefit: a feeling of being accorded individualized attention -- along with all of the choice of a large department store.

So what is the "feature-benefit model" that the brand called You offers? Do you deliver your work on time, every time? Your internal or external customer gets dependable, reliable service that meets its strategic needs. Do you anticipate and solve problems before they become crises? Your client saves money and headaches just by having you on the team. Do you always complete your projects within the allotted budget? I can't name a single client of a professional services firm who doesn't go ballistic at cost overruns.

Your next step is to cast aside all the usual descriptors that employees and workers depend on to locate themselves in the company structure. Forget your job title. Ask yourself: What do I do that adds remarkable, measurable, distinguished, distinctive value? Forget your job description. Ask yourself: What do I do that I am most proud of? Most of all, forget about the standard rungs of progression you've climbed in your career up to now. Burn that damnable "ladder" and ask yourself: What have I accomplished that I can unabashedly brag about? If you're going to be a brand, you've got to become relentlessly focused on what you do that adds value, that you're proud of, and most important, that you can shamelessly take credit for.

When you've done that, sit down and ask yourself one more question to define your brand: What do I want to be famous for? That's right -- famous for!

What's the pitch for You?

So it's a cliché: don't sell the steak, sell the sizzle. it's also a principle that every corporate brand understands implicitly, from Omaha Steaks's through-the-mail sales program to Wendy's "we're just regular folks" ad campaign. No matter how beefy your set of skills, no matter how tasty you've made that feature-benefit proposition, you still have to market the bejesus out of your brand -- to customers, colleagues, and your virtual network of associates.

For most branding campaigns, the first step is visibility. If you're General Motors, Ford, or Chrysler, that usually means a full flight of TV and print ads designed to get billions of "impressions" of your brand in front of the consuming public. If you're brand You, you've got the same need for visibility -- but no budget to buy it.

So how do you market brand You?

There's literally no limit to the ways you can go about enhancing your profile. Try moonlighting! Sign up for an extra project inside your organization, just to introduce yourself to new colleagues and showcase your skills -- or work on new ones. Or, if you can carve out the time, take on a freelance project that gets you in touch with a totally novel group of people. If you can get them singing your praises, they'll help spread the word about what a remarkable contributor you are.

If those ideas don't appeal, try teaching a class at a community college, in an adult education program, or in your own company. You get credit for being an expert, you increase your standing as a professional, and you increase the likelihood that people will come back to you with more requests and more opportunities to stand out from the crowd.

If you're a better writer than you are a teacher, try contributing a column or an opinion piece to your local newspaper. And when I say local, I mean local. You don't have to make the op-ed page of the New York Times to make the grade. Community newspapers, professional newsletters, even inhouse company publications have white space they need to fill. Once you get started, you've got a track record -- and clips that you can use to snatch more chances.

And if you're a better talker than you are teacher or writer, try to get yourself on a panel discussion at a conference or sign up to make a presentation at a workshop. Visibility has a funny way of multiplying; the hardest part is getting started. But a couple of good panel presentations can earn you a chance to give a "little" solo speech -- and from there it's just a few jumps to a major address at your industry's annual convention.

The second important thing to remember about your personal visibility campaign is: it all matters. When you're promoting brand You, everything you do -- and everything you choose not to do -- communicates the value and character of the brand. Everything from the way you handle phone conversations to the email messages you send to the way you conduct business in a meeting is part of the larger message you're sending about your brand.

Partly it's a matter of substance: what you have to say and how well you get it said. But it's also a matter of style. On the Net, do your communications demonstrate a command of the technology? In meetings, do you keep your contributions short and to the point? It even gets down to the level of your brand You business card: Have you designed a cool-looking logo for your own card? Are you demonstrating an appreciation for design that shows you understand that packaging counts -- a lot -- in a crowded world?

The key to any personal branding campaign is "word-of-mouth marketing." Your network of friends, colleagues, clients, and customers is the most important marketing vehicle you've got; what they say about you and your contributions is what the market will ultimately gauge as the value of your brand. So the big trick to building your brand is to find ways to nurture your network of colleagues -- consciously.

What's the real power of You?

If you want to grow your brand, you've got to come to terms with power -- your own. The key lesson: power is not a dirty word!

In fact, power for the most part is a badly misunderstood term and a badly misused capability. I'm talking about a different kind of power than we usually refer to. It's not ladder power, as in who's best at climbing over the adjacent bods. It's not who's-got-the-biggest-office-by-six-square-inches power or who's-got-the-fanciest-title power.

It's influence power.

It's being known for making the most significant contribution in your particular area. It's reputational power. If you were a scholar, you'd measure it by the number of times your publications get cited by other people. If you were a consultant, you'd measure it by the number of CEOs who've got your business card in their Rolodexes. (And better yet, the number who know your beeper number by heart.)

Getting and using power -- intelligently, responsibly, and yes, powerfully -- are essential skills for growing your brand. One of the things that attracts us to certain brands is the power they project. As a consumer, you want to associate with brands whose powerful presence creates a halo effect that rubs off on you.

It's the same in the workplace. There are power trips that are worth taking -- and that you can take without appearing to be a self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing megalomaniacal jerk. You can do it in small, slow, and subtle ways. Is your team having a hard time organizing productive meetings? Volunteer to write the agenda for the next meeting. You're contributing to the team, and you get to decide what's on and off the agenda. When it's time to write a post-project report, does everyone on your team head for the door? Beg for the chance to write the report -- because the hand that holds the pen (or taps the keyboard) gets to write or at least shape the organization's history.

Most important, remember that power is largely a matter of perception. If you want people to see you as a powerful brand, act like a credible leader. When you're thinking like brand You, you don't need org-chart authority to be a leader. The fact is you are a leader. You're leading You!

One key to growing your power is to recognize the simple fact that we now live in a project world. Almost all work today is organized into bite-sized packets called projects. A project-based world is ideal for growing your brand: projects exist around deliverables, they create measurables, and they leave you with braggables. If you're not spending at least 70% of your time working on projects, creating projects, or organizing your (apparently mundane) tasks into projects, you are sadly living in the past. Today you have to think, breathe, act, and work in projects.

Project World makes it easier for you to assess -- and advertise -- the strength of brand You. Once again, think like the giants do. Imagine yourself a brand manager at Procter & Gamble: When you look at your brand's assets, what can you add to boost your power and felt presence? Would you be better off with a simple line extension -- taking on a project that adds incrementally to your existing base of skills and accomplishments? Or would you be better off with a whole new product line? Is it time to move overseas for a couple of years, venturing outside your comfort zone (even taking a lateral move -- damn the ladders), tackling something new and completely different?

Whatever you decide, you should look at your brand's power as an exercise in new-look résumé; management -- an exercise that you start by doing away once and for all with the word "résumé." You don't have an old-fashioned résumé anymore! You've got a marketing brochure for brand You. Instead of a static list of titles held and positions occupied, your marketing brochure brings to life the skills you've mastered, the projects you've delivered, the braggables you can take credit for. And like any good marketing brochure, yours needs constant updating to reflect the growth -- breadth and depth -- of brand You.

What's loyalty to You?

Everyone is saying that loyalty is gone; loyalty is dead; loyalty is over. I think that's a bunch of crap.

I think loyalty is much more important than it ever was in the past. A 40-year career with the same company once may have been called loyalty; from here it looks a lot like a work life with very few options, very few opportunities, and very little individual power. That's what we used to call indentured servitude.

Today loyalty is the only thing that matters. But it isn't blind loyalty to the company. It's loyalty to your colleagues, loyalty to your team, loyalty to your project, loyalty to your customers, and loyalty to yourself. I see it as a much deeper sense of loyalty than mindless loyalty to the Company Z logo.

I know this may sound like selfishness. But being CEO of Me Inc. requires you to act selfishly -- to grow yourself, to promote yourself, to get the market to reward yourself. Of course, the other side of the selfish coin is that any company you work for ought to applaud every single one of the efforts you make to develop yourself. After all, everything you do to grow Me Inc. is gravy for them: the projects you lead, the networks you develop, the customers you delight, the braggables you create generate credit for the firm. As long as you're learning, growing, building relationships, and delivering great results, it's good for you and it's great for the company.

That win-win logic holds for as long as you happen to be at that particular company. Which is precisely where the age of free agency comes into play. If you're treating your résumé as if it's a marketing brochure, you've learned the first lesson of free agency. The second lesson is one that today's professional athletes have all learned: you've got to check with the market on a regular basis to have a reliable read on your brand's value. You don't have to be looking for a job to go on a job interview. For that matter, you don't even have to go on an actual job interview to get useful, important feedback.

The real question is: How is brand You doing? Put together your own "user's group" -- the personal brand You equivalent of a software review group. Ask for -- insist on -- honest, helpful feedback on your performance, your growth, your value. It's the only way to know what you would be worth on the open market. It's the only way to make sure that, when you declare your free agency, you'll be in a strong bargaining position. It's not disloyalty to "them"; it's responsible brand management for brand You -- which also generates credit for them.

It's this simple: You are a brand. You are in charge of your brand. There is no single path to success. And there is no one right way to create the brand called You. Except this: Start today. Or else.

Having the squad stand in a circle is a good way to see if they are in unison on the jumps. While they are jumping, you should call out the type of cheer jumps and count out loud. Once they are warmed up, have your squad practice doing jumps into tumbling routines, such as back handsprings. Cheer Tumbling Drills Make sure each cheerleading member has been trained properly before practicing any cheerleading moves and that all cheer spotters know how to spot each particular move. Once you pair each cheerleader with a cheerleader spotter, circulate around the gym making sure everyone, spotter and tumbler, is doing the drill correctly and safely.

How to Coach Youth Cheerleading

Some gyms start training their coaches while the future coach is still competing. Having an older cheerleader, one who is near the end of his or her competitive career, working with the youngest cheerleaders as an assistant coach is a good way for everyone to get a feel for the new coach's abilities and dedication to coaching.
Get Certified

Each state has its own requirements for certification, and no coach should be permitted to coach a team for cheerleading competition without that certification. Doing so poses liability issues for the coach and the gym. In addition to state certification, there are three major certification programs. These meet the requirements for state certification in some states. The American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) offer a Spirit Safety Certification Program that consists of lectures, required readings, and a timed exam. The program focuses on safety, liability, medical responsibilities, and other topics related to cheerleader safety. The National Council for Spirit Safety and Education (NCSSE) offers core cheerleading classes in Principles and Ethics, Cheer Fundamentals, and Stunt & Tumbling I and II leading to Master level certification. If you work for a private gym doing competitive cheerleading, you can get certified through the U.S. All Star Federation. They offer six levels of certification and training includes hands-on demonstration and Practical Field Experience. First aid training is usually required for coaching. Even if it's not required for your program, a Red Cross First Aid program is a good idea.

There are many resources for cheerleading coaches available particularly online at free sites like Weplay.com where they have hundreds of free skills & drills and tips for coaching cheerleading. You should also try to take advantage of some of the camps and conventions offered. The more you know, the more you'll be able to teach your cheer squad. These programs typically focus on safety and you can never know enough about how to keep kids safe while still having fun and learning the proper techniques of cheerleading and dance.
